Meet our Committee

The Yzerfontein Boat Angling Club is managed by a dedicated committee of volunteers who give their time to support the club, its members, events, safety standards, sponsorship relationships and ongoing administration.

The committee works together to maintain the club's strong boating and angling heritage, improve member communication, support safe and compliant events, and grow the club for the benefit of the Yzerfontein community.

Iain van der Spuy

Chairperson / 083 455 5818

Responsibility: Overall committee leadership, club direction, member representation and official club oversight.

Iain leads the Yzerfontein Boat Angling Club committee and supports the overall direction, governance and coordination of club activities, events and member matters.

Andre du Plooy

Vice-Chairperson

Responsibility: Committee support, operational assistance, member matters and sponsorship support.

Andre supports the Chairperson and assists with committee coordination, club operations, sponsorship relationships and member-related matters.

Chris Nel

Secretary

Responsibility: Membership administration, communication, records, website coordination and committee documentation.

Chris assists with the club's administration, member communication, record keeping, website updates, digital systems and committee documentation.

Kobus Beukes

Treasurer

Responsibility: Club finances, payment tracking, reconciliations, membership payments and financial reporting.

Kobus oversees the financial administration of the club, including payment verification, membership income, sponsor income and financial reporting to the committee.

Sean Beukman

Safety and Compliance Officer

Responsibility: Event safety, harbour safety, skipper compliance, weather-related planning and safety oversight.

Sean assists with safety planning and compliance for club events, including launch procedures, skipper requirements, fishing events and operational safety.

Hein Smith

Safety and Compliance Support

Responsibility: Safety support, event compliance and operational safety assistance.

Hein supports the safety portfolio by assisting with event planning, compliance checks and safety oversight during club activities.

Lambert

Sponsorship Support

Responsibility: Sponsor relationships, sponsor follow-ups and prize contributions.

Lambert assists with sponsor engagement and helps secure support for club events, competitions and community initiatives.

Mariska

Marketing and Communications

Responsibility: Social media, event promotion, sponsor visibility and communication support.

Mariska assists with marketing, social media communication, sponsor visibility and public updates for club events and activities.

George Phipps

Merchandise Coordinator

Responsibility: Club merchandise, apparel, member gear and event-related merchandise.

George assists with club merchandise, including clothing, branded items and event-related apparel coordination.

Willie Delport

Merchandise Support

Responsibility: Merchandise assistance and backup support.

Willie supports the merchandise portfolio and assists with coordination where required.
